I know the truth

embracing Colorado!!!

Returning from, musically, one of the greatest weekends of my life, I'd like to rap a little about seeing Pretty Lights at Red Rocks.

Going to Red Rocks has been on my bucket list since I heard about the venue (unoriginal, I know) but honestly it has. Not only did I get to experience Red Rocks (TWICE!! - 2 night show) but I got to see Colorado native, Derek Vincent Smith, aka, Pretty Lights. Everyone goes hardest in their home state.

Before I dive into the style of the shows, I have to say, musically it was one of the best shows I've been too. Derek served up some old, some new, and some I never thought I'd hear live. One of the highlights for me was when he played his mix of seven different Zeppelin songs infused with his style. A song or two later, he played his mix of "Time" by Pink Floyd.

Look at all the pretty lightssss

This was only the 3rd and 4th time I've seen Pretty Lights and first time not at a festival (although his set at All Good last year might as well have been a show of his own). One thing I love about his shows is he brings out the hippies of EDM. Stylistically, it's extremely entertaining. You still had your Raver-hippies:
The boots and faux-fur make them a little hippie (not together obviously...)
And those that went a little more casual:

The actual tree-hugging hippies were scarce seeing as there was only 2 traditional instruments to be found (thank you openers Gramatik and Break Science)...together you almost have a band!

So, for my looks. Day one: I went a little acid-hippie with my pants, rocked the infamous painted shoes (went closed-toe incase I had to climb a mountain...) Black bandeau, white fringe vest. If there existed pants that screamed "PRETTY LIGHTS AT RED ROCKS" I felt these did the job:

RIP sunglasses

a couple of my main ladies rocked fabulous Maxi dresses and were two of the best dressed that night:

The outfits must have been pretty lucky because we got to meet the man behind the music:
That's Derek with his girlfriend, Krystle Blackburn, in the back. That's me with half my head in the picture. But I was closest to him....
^^ that's what happens when you completely ignore any concert venues' attempt to "rope off"  the VIP section...

Day two: I decided a little more casual with a black maxi and a Kid Dangerous off-the-shoulder crop top and again my red lips (see top for picture!)

It became a Kid Dangerous kind of night when my boy rocked his (gifted by yours truly)..Tecate in hand.

Overall, the weekend was beyond a success. Fabulous people and phenomenal music lend themselves to produce an unforgettable time.

Next up: Electric Zoo for this one, I promise more pictures of other peoples' style, daytime makes it easier to creep.
